As we closed out 2016 we did it with a bang! Advisor Mike Kelley took his longtime girlfriend, Krista on Christmas Eve to see the tree at Crocker Park. While they posed for a photographer (that Mike had secretly hired) he dropped to one knee and asked Krista to be his wife. She said YES!
They are planning for a fall 2017 wedding and we wish Mike and Krista all the best for a long, happy life together!!
Education is a constant theme in our office as Bobbi Bruner, just finished her second semester at Franklin University and is currently holding a 4.0 GPA. Way to go Bobbi!
Nancy Williams continues to move forward and has already passed her 5th module of her CFP designation. In addition to all the studying and working, Nancy and her family have added a new family member. Meet Nancy’s new lab puppy Dexter. Dexter joined his fur brother, Wilson “Bad-Dog’ Williams on January 15th.
We are excited to welcome to the Carver Financial Services Team Lindsay Necci. Lindsay joined the Carver team January 2017 as a Client Service Associate. Fall 2016 Office Happenings
Crisp air is making its return and pumpkins are everywhere. As the seasons change we wanted to again share the latest happening at Carver Financial Service, Inc.
August brought some excitement for Adviser Mike Kelley, as he adopted two senior golden retrievers, Chloe and Chewy. They found themselves in need of rescue after their previous owner passed away. Mike and his girlfriend Krista quickly opened their hearts to these two adorable pups and gave them a new forever home. Congratulations Mike!
October was a marathon month. We mean that literally! Sr. Registered Associate, Nancy Williams RP® ran her second half marathon. This is a tremendous accomplishment as only 8% of Americans ever run a half marathon and only 5% complete a full marathon. Completing this takes months of dedication and a strict training regimen. We are all very proud of Nancy’s second half marathon success!
Our file clerk Kelly has been working very hard as we continue to move to a paperless office. Kelly has been with us part time for 3 years this month; the other part of her time is spent in college. Kelly is graduating this May and was just granted an internship with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. During her internship Kelly will be doing dispatch, working within the Lake County Jail, doing ride a longs with deputies and court room duties. We are excited for and very proud of Kelly for her hard work and this new opportunity.
Lastly, please be sure to click over to our awards page as August, September and October brought many more awards and accolades to Randy Carver and the team at Carver Financial Services, Inc. These most recent awards include Crain’s 52 recognizing the top 52 fastest growing companies in N.E. Ohio, Weatherhead 100, an elite group of companies who are the best example of leadership, growth and success. Carver Financial Services, Inc. was also again named to Fast Track 50 for the 9th straight year. Finally, once again Barron’s magazine named Randy Carver one of the Top 100 Independent Advisors in the United States.
We truly appreciate each and every one of our clients and we work diligently to provide you the very best at all times. We take great pride in reaching the highest quality and standards and are excited to share these latest accomplishments with you.

Summer is already coming to a close and we are wrapping things up with one of our largest ever client appreciation events to date. Friday August 26, 2016 we are hosting over 1,200 guests at the Lake County Captains stadium. Not only one of our largest but according to the clients a favorite family fun event!
Earlier this summer we hosted our annual Tim Groves Charity Golf outing and with an attendance of 120 golfers we raised $9,000.00 for local charities including; Mentor Rotary Bone Marrow Matching Program, The Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Crossroads, Magnolia Clubhouse, Hospice of Western Reserve and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
August kept us ‘rolling’ with the Annual Wings & Wheels Car and Airplane Show. We had over 180 cars and 28 planes registered at the event. The weather was perfect and the attendance and excitement were high with DJ Ryno and our Pin-Up Girl both keeping the energy ‘flying’! If you missed this event it is sure to be one you want to put on your calendar for next summer.
It is a free event for all participants and attendees. Each year we are graciously hosted at the Classic Jet Center on Lost Nation Road.
Among all of the fun summer activities we remain steadfast and hard at work. Some highlights of our staff achievements are; Nancy Williams has passed the 4th module of her CFP licensing process. Huge congratulations to Nancy on this major step forward.
Deanna Kochensparger has earned her series 7 license and is now a Registered Sales Assistant. And lastly, Becky Mullenax has earned her Registered Para Planner license.
Lastly, Financial Advisor, Nik Wearsch in May earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, CFP® designation. Although many professionals may call themselves “financial planners,” CFP® professionals have completed extensive training and experience requirements and are held to rigorous ethical standards. We enthusiastically congratulate Nik on his designation and continuing to set a high standard of excellence.
Needless to say we are extremely proud of all of our staff and pride ourselves on always focusing on lifelong learning, bringing you the best possible team around. Watch for more designations and licensing to be earned and announced in the coming future!

Randy is excited to announce that his family is growing again with the addition of another ‘fur-baby’. Meet Hercules, a Rottweiler puppy that Randy and Christine adopted earlier this month. Hercules joins Randy’s other 3 Rottweilers Zeus, Olympia and Athena. You can often find our “little” Hercules bounding down the hallways here, chasing a tennis ball and crashing into walls. It is so much fun to have a new puppy to play with and to watch grow….and WOW is he growing fast. When fully grown, Hercules should top 200 pounds!
There is still time to register for the Quality of Life Seminar on April 6, 2016. While our lunch is almost full we do still have room for our evening session. Congratulations to Deanna Kochensparger who passed her Series 7 licensing and is now a Registered Associate. She is another lifelong learner hard at work with the Carver Team. As always, we continue to work hard to provide you the best possible service.
While we have been enjoying a more mild winter a lot has been taking place around Carver Financial Services. In mid-January one of our Client Concierges, Tracy Goldhardt, visited the Raymond James home office in St. Petersburg, Florida. She brought back some new ideas and received some beneficial training to better assist our clients.
(Tracy, pictured second from the left and her view of the home office from her hotel room.)
On January 14th we had over 50 clients and friends attend the Eaton Party at Kirtland Country Club. On January 21st we hosted a party for Avery employees at Kirtland Country Club and 27 people were in attendance. And finally, on February 10th, snow storm and all, we had 27 attendees at the Combined Company Party hosted at the Mentor Harbor Yacht Club. The next major event we are excited to bring to you is the Quality of Your Life seminar. The presentation will be given by guest speaker John Diehl. We want to say congratulations to Mark Spoerke on earning the accreditation of Certified Financial Planner™. We follow the belief that it is important to be lifelong learners and are very proud of Mark earning this additional certification after many months of studying. Way to go Mark!
Lastly, we tallied up the collections from our Operations Breakfast and are very happy to share that our sponsored charity, PAWS, received a check this month from Carver Cares foundation of $2,390. PAWS is a Northeastern Ohio based mission that rescues stray and abused cats and dogs and places them in good homes with loving, caring owners. We are proud to be a part of helping them to continue this important work and thank you for joining the efforts with us.

The New Year is off to a rocking start here at Carver Financial Services. We are pushing forward into our paperless project. Going paperless not only makes us more efficient and productive but will make all your files readily available right from our desk. Meaning we can serve you and answer your questions even faster.
On December 28th, Sara O’Neil, a Registered Sales Assistant, joined our team! We spent a lot of time searching for someone with Sara’s credentials and experience within the industry. We are delighted she has chosen to join us on our mission to make our client’s lives simpler.
We also want to recognize Becky Mullenax for a recent accomplishment of passing her Ohio Life Insurance exam. Congratulations Becky, we are all very proud of you.
On January 9th, 2016 we hosted our annual Resources Breakfast. It was wonderful to see so many of you there. We were elated to have our highest turn out yet with well over 360 in attendance. We looked at investment philosophy, strategy and outlook, discussed new mobile and online technology now available, updated you on our team and answered a few really great questions. Thank you for attending and if you could not be there we encourage you to follow this link to our YouTube channel where the seminar can be viewed at your convenience.
Keep an eye out for our 2015 Annual Report which was just mailed. The report will give you an in-depth recap of what happened inside the business and also provide you with some behind the scenes information about our staff.
We have our ‘company events’ coming up over the next several weeks. This starts with the Eaton party on January 14th then the Avery party follows on January 21st and the Combined Companies party on February 10th. The parties wrap up on March 3rd with Lubrizol. These events, similar to our others, are a great way to connect with your friends and even reconnect with some of your past co-workers. Call the office today at 440-974-0808 and let us know that you’re planning on attending. Don’t forget the invitation is open to all current or retied employees and not limited to clients of Carver Financial Services. Raymond James is not affiliated with Eaton, Avery, or Lubrizol
Lastly, we wanted to share a photo of a favorite Carver team member hard at work. Meet Zeus, one of Randy’s three Rottweilers. Zeus is a frequent visitor of the office and is always eager to greet and give the clients his full attention.
We have had some really exciting happenings here in the Carver corner of the world.
Nik Wearsch celebrates his 6th year serving the clients here with Carver Financial Services. Nik has had many changes over the years. He is now father to two kids, Olivia and Greyson. We are so happy to wish Nik a Happy 6th Anniversary!
Carver Cares is so much more than just a slogan! To us it is so much of who we are. Recently the team volunteers for End 68 Hours of Hunger stopped in the office and pick up a check of funds raised by Carver Cares to support their efforts of no children going without food over the weekends from Mentor elementary schools. We also supported Riverside High School’s swim team, the Mentor High School Athletics and the local Humane Society with financial donations.
The office has been a bustle of activity as we prepare for the years end and look forward to all that 2016 has in store. Some things we have been working on are the upcoming 20th Annual Resource Breakfast on January 9th (we hope you will be there) as well as organizing the Company Events in January, February and March. Click here to see all upcoming events.
Have a great holiday season!
